Matrix Of The Illusion

We were talking about the space between us all
And the people who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth, then it's far too late, when they pass away

George Harrison

Ah, Maya (the illusion). This page was created from a space of an existential quandary. How can a person live in this modern world and still hold on to ones core values? Engage without wanting to run of to a monastery, the deep woods, a cave or another planet? Among our greatest drives are to love and be loved, be needed and fulfill others needs and to find productive endeavors that sustain us financially and also sustain the yearnings of our souls.

Too often while we do this we see the negative aspects of this human life more that the beauty of it. Social media, while connecting the world more and more each day, has also been shown to leave many less connected in a real physical sense and too often feeling more lonely than ever. The news often fills us with dread rather than hope. Our children (and adults) experience the world through a screen and nature is a distant relative they visit on special days, not on a daily basis. The dreamers of the world are scoffed at and told to “get real”.

On this page I will attempt to convey this existentialist angst and hopefully suggest some solutions that will be helpful in maneuvering this maze we all are sharing called life. In essence that is the goal of this whole website as our world and our minds are a complex arena as vast and deep as inner and outer space.

Martin Luther defined sin as "a person turned in on themselves" (Phil 2). In modern terms we call this self-centeredness or selfishness. Sanctification and a life of holiness could well be described as "a person turned outward to others." John Wesley wrote, "There is no holiness but social holiness." That is, vital, growing religion of the heart will always seep out into every area of a person’s life as they respond to the call to love one another as God has loved them.

Pema Chodron is a notable American figure in Tibetan Buddhism. She is an ordained nun, author, and acharya, senior teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist. A central theme of her teachings is the belief in "shenpa", the Tibetan word for "attachment", which she interprets as the moment one is hooked into a cycle of habitual negative or self-destructive actions and thought. Shenpa, or getting "hooked," according to Chödrön, occurs as a response to a comment, situation or other stimulus that is similar or related to past experiences. She asserts that often those experiences are negative, leading to a pattern of self-destructive thought and behaviors. Pema's teachings on loving-kindness, meditation, mindfulness, "nowness," letting go, and working with fear and other painful emotions. I love her and I think she offers wisdom to assist us all in dealing with life in the modern world. ~ Pema Chodron Foundation

~ Well as far as “channeling” in general many believe and many don't. There is a section on this site devoted to this. That said, Seth repeatedly stresses that 'You create your own reality.' But how do our different individual realities merge and combine...in Seth's words... 'to form mass reactions such as the overthrow of governments, the birth of a new religion, wars, epidemics, earthquakes, and new periods of art, architecture, and technology'? Events that influence a great number of people simultaneously? How much power does an individual have to control or partake in chosen events in immediate surroundings. This book offers insight into the nature of 'mass events'; carefully elaborates how the individual and the collective consciousness work together in a balancing act to create a shared reality that serves the development needs of those involved simultaneously.
