Where to start with this page has been quite an endeavor. This is among the first pages I created, but have done little with it. Having grown up in the tumultuous 60's activism seems to be embedded in my DNA. My first acts in social activism were in Jr. High School. We marched around the public schools administration building to allow boy's hair to touch their ears and wear beads, girls to be able to wear shorter skirts and wear pants and topped it off when a favored teacher was getting fired for being “too liberal” in his teaching methods protesting on his behalf. In high school I was expelled more than once for refusing to stand for the pledge of allegiance to the flag. Although they were small in my city, I join in the the protest against the Vietnam War as the age to be drafted loomed before me. After 911 I was a founding member and on the BOD for 10 plus years of the Idaho Peace Coalition. I have been involved with old grow forest issues, anti-nukes, prisons and one of my prime passions is for the homeless. Okay, enough personal history.
It seems to me the first steps of changing the world are encapsulated in the first line of a famous song written by Jill Jackson Miller and Sy Miller in 1955.. "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me." and in the quote from Alice Walker. "Activism is my rent for living on the planet." As stated in the definition of activism, it is not only a matter of creating change to the tangible world we live in, it is also a matter of changing our hearts and minds. The bulk of this site is dedicated to giving access to new thoughts and ideas to stimulate change in us all and tools to accomplish these changes. So as we change ourselves we change the world. As our eyes turn from the inner realms outward, we see a world that needs us. The flora, the fauna and the humans. As Mahatma Gandhi said,
"Be the change that you wish to see in the world."

"Logic clearly dictates that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Or the one."

The reason why the world is in chaos,
is because things are being loved and people are being used.”

Many say that new citizens know the American Constitution
and civics better than natural born citizens do.
There are many versions of this online:
Immigrants applying for U.S. citizenship have to pass a 10-question civics test
asking basic questions about American history and government, and about 93% succeed.
But only 65% of native-born Americans Collage graduates and 44% of high school graduates
could get the required six out of 10 right answers when asked the same questions.

From 1778 to 1871 the United States government entered into more than 500 treaties with the Native American tribes; every one of these treaties has since been violated in some way or outright "broken" by the US government. However, violations by one party do not nullify the treaties; the treaties are still in effect, and Native Americans and First Nations peoples are still fighting for their treaty rights in federal courts and at the United Nations.

U.N. Arms Trade Treaty ~ Official Website
International weapons commerce has been estimated to reach US$70 billion a year.
The U.S. has signed but not ratified it.
The most vocal and organized civil society groups opposing aspects of the ATT originated from the United States. These groups include the National Rifle Association (NRA), the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the Second Amendment Foundation, and The Heritage Foundation.
The NRA and the Gun Owners of America say that the treaty is an attempt to circumvent the Second Amendment and similar guarantees in state constitutions in order to impose domestic gun regulations.
One of the largest sources of civil opposition to the ATT has come from the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA), which is the lobbying arm of the NRA in July of 2012

History of Propaganda
Violence is a central element of wars. How do we get people to commit this violence? Propaganda. Way back in 1927 Harold Lasswell said "Modern warfare is waged on three fronts, "the military front, the economic front, and the propaganda front.”
Othering/Atrocity Propaganda By Steffen Bruendel
Anne Morelli has summarized and systematized the contents of Arthur Ponsonby's classic "Falsehood in War-Time: Propaganda Lies of the First World War" (Full Text Here) in "ten commandments of propaganda":
1. We do not want war. ~ 2. The opposite party alone is guilty of war. ~ 3. The enemy is the face of the devil. ~ 4. We defend a noble cause, not our own interest. ~ 5. The enemy systematically commits cruelties; our mishaps are involuntary. ~ 6. The enemy uses forbidden weapons. ~ 7. We suffer small losses, those of the enemy are enormous. ~ 8. Artists and intellectuals back our cause. ~ 9. Our cause is sacred. ~ 10. All who doubt our propaganda, are traitors.

Among graduate and professional students, 8.8% of females and 2.2% of males experience rape or sexual assault through physical force, violence, or incapacitation.
